The quiet village of Wingello was awash with horses on the weekend of 27th & 28th May for the massive annual endurance event organised by New-Moon Stud – horses, people, floats, campfires, shops, a horsemanship demonstration, our favorite Rock God Dave Newman live around the bonfire, and 349 entries across the various ride distances on offer!

The event catered for all levels of endurance, with youngsters being led around the 5km course by their parents, groups of friends taking their time to enjoy stunning forest trails along the 10km, 20km and 41k courses, and a field of 105 riders in the competitive 80km ride, culminating in an exciting gallop finish between local girls April Newman and Georgia Curry, creating a new course record of 3hrs 46mins.

Fabulous sponsorship from Maxxis Tyres helped create a wonderful atmosphere with great infrastructure and prizes, and enabled filming of the event for ongoing promotion of the sport of endurance – keep an eye out for us on social media and regional television!

The dedication of the ever-growing team of Cherished Volunteers, Vets and Officials is awesome to behold.  Thank you to each and every volunteer for your valuable time and effort in helping to run this event.
