About Olymp al Samarra (Elite)
Olymp stands at the Al Samarraie family stud in Germany.
In the ZSAA Stallion Performance Test, held at the biggest European sport event for Arabian horses, Olymp scored 7.48, and was approved by the German Minister for Agriculture.
Then in Bavaria he competed successfully in eventing for three successive seasons. In his Sport Performance Test he won against 30 warmblood horses in dressage. Olymp then started training for endurance, and competed successfully in International CEI events in Germany, Hungary and France. He was selected to be part of the German team for the European Championships at Florac in 2011. His endurance results awarded him another Sport Performance Test, with one of the highest results of the last 15 years.
Olymp won 1st place in the CEIJYR** 120km endurance ride in The Netherlands (May 2016), and was selected as part of the German Team for the 2016 Junior European Championship in Portugal, at the age of 17 years, and 5 years after his first selection for a European Championship event.
Olymp is licensed for Shagya-Araber breeding and is also accepted by the German Trakehner Verband for Trakehner breeding. His first Australian foal was a colt – New-Moon Orion (born 2016). NM Orion sired two beautiful foals for New-Moon Stud and has since been sold to a breeding home in Victoria.
New-Moon Orion’s son, New-Moon Odin, has been retained at New-Moon stud for stallion duties (which he rather enjoys), and in 2022 produced two beautiful fillies.
The New-Moon Stud mare group now includes three fillies by Olymp (New-Moon Jameka, New-Moon Delilah and New-Moon Marelda), one filly by NM Orion (New-Moon Maia), and two fillies by NM Odin (New-Moon Ziri and New-Moon Jalara).
