The ride started at midnight on Friday 5th June 2015 to live entertainment including The Quilty Song and the Australian National Anthem. It was a magnificent sight, with 342 beautifully prepared horses streaming out of the gate under floodlights, and spectators standing several deep along the sidelines.
The New-Moon Stud team were volunteering in force at this massive event, with Bec joining the organising committee to manage sponsorship, promotions and volunteers. Darren, Pat and Brian worked hard in the kitchen looking after the stomachs of over 200 volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event run.
Celebrity Guests Aaron Jeffery and Zoe Naylor (well known from Australian television series McLeod’s Daughters, and many other film and television roles) provided MC support throughout the event, and were kept busy signing autographs and posing for photos.
